Certificate in Musical Theatre

im just looking for further training options in Musical Theatre and have found quite a few courses that could offer training. I'm just wondering if you would share your opinions in regards to a certificate 4 in Musical theatre. do you think it will give me the starting platform in order to get into a course such as nida or waapa?

Wed, 3 Oct 2007, 12:13 amYes, if it's a good institution! Where are you thinking of enrolling? There are some fantastic schools out there, as well as some with less-than-perfect reviews. It'd be worthwhile to research each one before you make a commitment.
Of course, the more training and experience you have, the more likely you are to get into WAAPA or NIDA. WAAPA also offers short audition preparation courses to give you a bit of an edge. I'm not sure about NIDA as I'm a Perthie myself!
And if you decide not to do the course, you can always do a make-your-own to help prepare you for the big MS schools - get a great singing teacher, take dancing lessons and acting courses, and get involved with as many community musicals as you possibly can.
