To the discerning viewer,

Tumbleweed Productions wishes to announce the return of the cult black-comedy musical, ‘CHECKOUT!’ after a successful run at Fremantle’s ‘Fly By Night Club’ in August ’05. Aiming to pull tight on those silly strings and tap hard at your funny bones, ‘CHECKOUT! - The musical’ will be open for trade from June 8th ’06, at The Rechabites Hall, Northbridge.

Be launched head first on a path down ‘Ridiculous Lane’ and together we’ll meet the staff of ‘Super Savings Supermarket’, Rockingham. The most bizarre staff you’ll ever meet.

Unaware of their own peculiarities, they voice their left of field opinions with passion and force. Then, add a frantic whirlwind of song and dance, a murdered store manager, a manic investigator, and you will see the craziness that flows from each characters deepest thoughts and fears. The fears most of us try so hard to hide.

Now in its fourth glorious production, and after entertaining countless.... hundreds of people in West and South Australia, there is only one vital and remaining question...

Do you dare check-out CHECKOUT!?!

I am currently a student of the Certificate Course at WAAPA, and was made aware of said agreement. The agreement doesn't state that a Cert graduate deny their status as a former WAAPA student, but says it is illegal to 'misrepresent' themselves as a 'Music Theatre graduate' from WAAPA without making the distinction that it was from the Cert course. This agreement was introduced, explained David King, because of several apparent instances where Cert students have (intentionally or unintentially) omitted information to press that therefore suggested they are BA graduates. When this occurs it not only gives a false representation of a performer's education and training, but is also a little unfair to those who have auditioned and studied hard for three years to obtain their Bachelor degree. However, that is just me explaining my experience with the agreement as a current student, I don't wish to be involved with any argument. In fact, when it comes to Ethan Tomas...I do not know him but have the utmost respect for anyone who cares enough to help create an original musical in this day and age, especially in Perth!!! And on the topic of Rhoda Lopez...yes, she is phenomenal. An incredible performer as well as a dear and supportive friend of mine, so I urge all to support her and her great castmates...as well as the creation of original musical theatre(!!!) by going to see this show!
