My partner and I were among a select few that travelled from Perth to see The Kalgoorlie Repertory Club's production of Ali Baba. We are both of the opinion that it was worth every kilometre. During the after show chit-chat I was surprised to learn that several of the cast were "virgins" and that Ali Baba was their first public performance. Congratulations to those people (and to ALL the cast and crew) and keep up the great work!! In particular, the choreography and comic timing of the chase scene was on a par with professional standards.
I would also like to thank Melzzz (Melanie DeCull) for arranging the weekend, and acting as "Tour Guide" throughout our stay. I am sure I speak for our entire group of travellers when I say that a terrific time was had by all!!

Thank you Graeme, and thank you to Christine, Brendan, Ian & Lottie, Derek & Sally, Bill and Mike... who all came along to experience Kalgoorlie and the Goldfields Repertory Club... a fabulous time was definately had by all - and I'm really glad you all got to see behind the scenes and backstage of the theatre... it truely is a brilliant theatre and they're all very spoilt with the facilities they have in Kalg aren't they!!

Not only were we thoroughly entertained by The Brookman St Theatre with an excellent show... I hope you all enjoyed the touristy things that we all did... including The Mining Hall of Fame, Superpit, Goldfields Arts Centre tour - thanks to Chris Hartl, exploring the underground mine, panning for gold, and driving by infamous Hay St (several times) hehehe...

We're all hoping to trek out to Kalgoorlie and other regional towns including Bunbury, Busselton, Albany for example in the future... so if anyone is interested in taking the trek or can recommend a particular show - then you can contact me via email.... melaniedecull@bigpond.com

And to those that couldn't make it this time but really wanted to... there will be other times - but oh boy - WHAT A SHOW !!!

Cheers
Melz
