Tue, 22 Feb 2000, 08:36 amHi Mr T
I'd have thought most of what we learn about accents we derive from movies and tv. Why not rent a movie set in New York - or watch some old Seinfeld episodes (i've only ever seen one, but i gather it's set in the big apple).
Failing that
Accents and Dialects for the Stage, by Evangeline Macklin, comes with a book and six tapes - a great investment! Try it out at the WAAPA library before you buy.
Cheers
