GODSPELL
Mon, 22 Mar 1999, 02:02 pmI dont know what GarryT had to say but, I saw the opening night of Godspell and it was fantastic. It had the usual techinical hitches that almost spoilt the entire performance, but Adam Webb (director) has once again been able to assemble a fine cast that could out perform Mr Blizzar I'm sure.I remember seeing this show when it was first performed all those years ago and anyone else of my ilk will remember the great rythms of the 70's. I dont usually agree with changing the script but this one really does benefit from a face lift.I wont single out any cast members because I think they all did a fine job but i will say this the underlying message was delivered with sincerity and grace which makes the show more of a religious experience than a bit of musical theatre. So go see it, take the family, it finishes early, you will home in bed by 10:30, its fun, energetic, charasmatic and very funny. Even if you dont believe in God or our Lord Jesus Christ you will enjoy this show.Kristine Lockwood

Tue, 23 Mar 1999, 01:52 pmNo Prompt Corner are not members of the ITA and never have been as far as I know.If people choose to 'work' for the organisation then thats their business/problem. The ITA is keeping well and truly out of it!> Hi All.> I've always been intrigued at the sheer volume of bile levelled> at Prompt Corner/Music Makers/Fill in the Blank. I've heard many tales> and opinions about the practices, and my experiences with the group> (slight thought they are) have been less than favourable; to the point> I won't go near them.> What I am corcerned with is: why should this worry the ITA? As> far as I am aware Prompt Corner is not part of the ITA. Am I right> in this?> Of course, if, and I say "if" advisedly as I don't> see any concrete proof to any allegation previously levelled against> them, Prompt Corner chooses not to be part of the ITA, that's their> business. If less-informed individuals choose to do shows with Prompt> Corner, more power to 'em (they'll most likely need it!). Are we really,> truly, that concerned over the activities of this group?? Our only> concern should be the quality of the shows they put on, and that's> up to the subjective opinion of the audience member.> The means don't always justify the ends- in theatre, or criticism.>
