Shakespeare's As You Like It
Sun, 29 Nov 1998, 09:31 pmThe most exciting community theatre production of 1999 may well end up being the fifth anniversary production of Shakespeare in the New Fortune Theatre.John Milson, ex-head of the Musical Theatre programme at the WA Academy of Performing Arts directs this joint production by the Graduate Dramatic Society and the University Dramatic Society.Over the past five years these joint productions have delighted and excited audiences with their fresh and lively interpretations of some of the greatest plays ever written. In the face of fresh competition from Shakespeare in the park and at the Festival of Perth, this project has built its audience in each successive year.A truly awesome team of actors, designers and technicians have been assembled for this production of As You Like It. Including many old faces from previous productions returning to add their experience to a youthful and talented company. Some of the participants in the earliest productions return now as academy students or graduates. The show will run the last two weeks of January and first of February next year. More news as it comes to handCheersGrant

I would be interested in seeing it. Perhaps the ITA could organise a group booking and offer it cheaper? Just a thought!> The most exciting community theatre production of 1999 may well> end up being the fifth anniversary production of Shakespeare in the> New Fortune Theatre.> John Milson, ex-head of the Musical Theatre programme at the> WA Academy of Performing Arts directs this joint production by the> Graduate Dramatic Society and the University Dramatic Society.> Over the past five years these joint productions have delighted> and excited audiences with their fresh and lively interpretations> of some of the greatest plays ever written. Hi Craig> I would be interested in seeing it. Perhaps the ITA could organise> a group booking and offer it cheaper? Just a thought! The tickets are relatively cheap anyway. The University Dramatic Society is made up in large part by starving arts students (i'm allowed to say it, i used to be one) so they make sure the ticket price stays down. The tickets went up in price for the first time this year. I'm going from memory here, so i hope i'm right. It's $15 full and $10 concession. I have a notion that for _school_ groups of ten or more it's only $5 per ticket.About half the price of seeing Shakespeare in the park - and we give you a seat to sit on!CheersGrant
