large venue Perth
Tue, 6 Dec 2005, 09:15 pmDoes anyone in Perth know of a large venue which could be converted into a dance/theatre space?The aircraft hangers in Maylands would be perfect but the police won't leave; but a building like a woolstore or gymnasium would be perfect.I have all the technical gear to make it work but cannot think of a venue.There is a crying need for a large,cheap venue which could essentially be run by volunteers, [keeping the costs down] to cater for schools productions and amateur groups musicals and it could be an educational area for students.If anyone has any bright ideas let me know.

Wed, 7 Dec 2005, 08:58 amThe Railway Workshop in Midland? I don't know about cost but I've been there a few times for uni... big long space... I would estimate 100 meters by... 15/20 I suppose.
However, it isn't fully open. There are metal pillars holding up the roof and I say 15/20 because there is the old machinary beyond that.
Still, a very interesting space.
