1. Contact the producers.
2. Ask them how much they want for the *non-exclusive* performance-only rights (you don't want to sell the manuscript/rights for future performances of your adaptation, presumably?) for your state/territory only.
3. You could also indicate how many potential seats you can sell during the season and at what price, etc. so they get a feel for how much you can afford.
4. Indicate when you need to know by for planning/adaptation/production deadlines.
5. Outline the treatment you wish to perform to the script to adapt it for stage.
