how would someone go about getting rights to produce a play from a film???

Hi Lyn,

1. Contact the producers.

2. Ask them how much they want for the *non-exclusive* performance-only rights (you don't want to sell the manuscript/rights for future performances of your adaptation, presumably?) for your state/territory only.

3. You could also indicate how many potential seats you can sell during the season and at what price, etc. so they get a feel for how much you can afford.

4. Indicate when you need to know by for planning/adaptation/production deadlines.

5. Outline the treatment you wish to perform to the script to adapt it for stage.

however, i am looking for a sierrian leonian for my next play.....naah! i'll just get nimrod to do it...

keep up the moderation, last thing we need is loadsa these things. sickening how much exploitation goes on in the world though. there probably was an original rosemery and a thousand others like her.
