Just heard the sad news yesterday that Nick Enright, great contemporary Aussie playwright of 'Black Rock', 'Spurboard', 'Boy From Oz' and numerous musical collaborations with WAAPA's David King, has been diagnosed with cancer. WAAPA has a Nick Enright tribute planned for this year (organised prior to his diagnosis) which, unfortunately, he will no longer be involved with as much as originally anticipated.

Thoughts go out to Mr Enright, his family and friends.

It is very sad, but let's not write him off just yet, rather lets hope and pray he can overcome this horrible disease. Experience has taught me that a cancer patient will always appreciate your hope over your pity. You can also show your appreciation for Mr Enrights work in March when the Academies musical theatre students perform his new musical 'The Good Fight'. Whispers from the stage manager (my sister) say it will be VERY good.
Have strength Nick Enright. FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT.
