As an ex-client of one mentioned agency and an extremely happy member of the other, I would be very interested to hear more about these statements, which are very easy to make behind the mask of anonymity (ie not providing an email address). Why wouldn't you bother with AM? If it is because they are very choosy in who they take on, then fair enough. Their pickiness is great for those of us on their books, as it ensures a high standard for casting agents, without cluttering up the office with everyone who walks in the door. However, this is less than ideal for a young performer looking to get some exposure - it is quite hard to make the cut. Other than that, why not AM? I ask with interest, and also in a hope that you are not just slanging off another agency just because you happen to be on the books with a competitor.
And before it is said, yes, I did leave Actors Plus after the ACE collapse, but that was nobody's fault - I merely felt that Actors Management was a better place for me, and my career has prospered as a result. However, that was a personal decision, and I have little to say about Actors Plus - nothing bad, and wasn't around long enough to say much good.
I am, however, very interested to hear you expand on what you have anonymously posted - I hope that you say these things for some reason, and not just because you wanted to refute some of the vitriol from some other ex agency members.
Cheers and feel free to post to my email,
Toby
