VCA Drama
Sun, 2 Sept 2007, 04:26 pmHi all!
I'm looking into entering into the VCA drama couse in 2009 and was wondering if anyone could share with me their experiences with the course, as well as the audition process. I will only be 18 by the commencement of the course, will this in any way affect wether I am accepted or not?
Any advice is appreciated!
Cheers,
-Hillary

Hi Hilary,
I'm just finishing first year at the moment. I'm 22. There are girls and guys as young as you will be in my Company, but I'm sure they'd agree with me and say that it's a hard call going straight from school into Drama School, and that a few extra years under the belt is a huge advantage. It's high pressure, hi stress, high discipline, high professionalism from the word go, and frankly, I'm glad I dabbled and travelled and played before I wound up in these esteemed corridors, it gives you more to draw on and more patience. Not to say don't audition! FIRE AWAY! But don't get too edgy to be in. Be young and free. See you soon. Maybe? And if you've got the 'goods' nobody's ever going to tell you you're too young.
