Pearl Fishers
Wed, 9 May 2001, 12:19 pmWent to see Pearl Fishers at the Maj last night. Beautifully designed production, wonderful voices, backed by the WASO.
I believe it is on May 10 and 12. Well worth a look if you have the time.

And in just six weeks time, four members of that fine chorus will be singing as soloists in "After Aida", the next Grads production at the Dolphin Theatre.
Alongside such acting luminaries as Cliff Gillam, Martin Forsey, Celia Andrews, Jonathan Beckett, and Mark Blades, the glorious voices of soprano Gosia Slawomirski, mezzo-soprano Jacqueline Auty, tenor Robert Littlewood (Dramafest 2000 Best Actor winner for "Mozart & Salieri"), and bass-baritone Mark Alderson (Robert's "Mozart & Salieri" co-star), will sing excerpts from some of Giuseppe Verdi's greatest operas.
It's a comedy, and it has beautiful singing... what more could you ask?
This shameless plug was brought to you by the team behind "Romeo and Juliet" at the New Fortune, and "Summer of the Seventeenth Doll" at the Dolphin.
Thank you and goodnight,
