Went to see Pearl Fishers at the Maj last night. Beautifully designed production, wonderful voices, backed by the WASO.
I believe it is on May 10 and 12. Well worth a look if you have the time.

I must concur with Stuart - and not just because I am connected with the show... I have never worked on Opera much before (except for Professional Moral Support on one that my wife directed in Canada...) but was cast in Pearl Fishers as a chorus actor - basically the old-fashioned 'Spear Bearer'! It's a great show - design wise it is stunning, and along with four wonderful talents in the leads, the WAO Chorus do themselves proud.

Get along and have a look - it is a little bit expensive, but if you are up for a gamble, there are Student Rush tickets available 15 mins before the 7.30 curtain up for only $9.90. These tickets aren't just in the Gods, either - my wife took one of these tickets last week and managed to snag a cancellation ticket in the fourth row!! Otherwise, Gods or obscured seats start at about $25 - but it is well worth it.
