Are regional films recommended?

To all those who may have been there before: I'm trying to get into all that I can this year for experience before going to a performing arts uni, there's a regional play being filmed where I live which I raised my hand to be involved in as an actor (or if all else fails - anything else). Before I jump in the deep end - are there any warning signals/alarm bells going off in anybody's heads? Just thought I'd check - cheers all. Chantel.

The details

It all depends on the details. Who, What, Where, via what agency, etc.

How did you find out about it? Can you gather any details about the production, company, etc. Is it an independant production or student based thing? Do you know anything the funding? Does it promise paid work or not? Is the union or local screen institutions aware of it? Just a few questions to consider...

Regional Film

These are all things I've yet to find out - many of these questions I wouldn't have even thought of so thankyou to you both. So far all I know is that it is to be a horror movie made by regional people...I'm not sure of much else. I'm a little bit wary of it - but I'll be sure to find out now. Thanks again.

Wariness

No need to be wary. These are questions that you learn to ask - most of the time (in my experience) producers/directors don't tell you the little things, but they are important. Vagueness

To true. Blind Obedience regardless of the outcome is always the prefered mode of operation for a producer/director. Too many questions can expose the cracks.
