Just thought I'd bring this thread back to the top to remind people it's still an ongoing hot issue!

But seriously folks - a strange & uncharacteristic silence about this topic on the part of the Management of the Kwinana Arts Centre (& the Don Russell Centre), who's been known to lurk around this site in the past; & who recently had occasion to remind us of the traumas & costs inherent in magnanimously undertaking the management of a Community Arts Centre for the greater good of the local populace.

It makes you wonder, doesn't it, when considering the histories of both these Arts Centres & then seeing the current plight of those groups who were originally, according to their local Councils, supposed to be an integral part of those Centres?!!

When a Local Council approaches your group, begging you to participate in their new pet project - be afraid, be very afraid!

This is a discussion about the possibility of a popular theatre company losing their home and you, Mr Ashton, have used it as a forum to further your own business interests. Shame on you. How can you think that we would honestly believe that you are looking out for the community when you it is obvious to anyone that you are and always will be a businessman first and foremost. Please do not try and insult our intelligence by suggesting you are anything else.
