Teen- where to start?
Mon, 27 Oct 2003, 09:51 amHi, im 15 and ive done quite a bit of drama lessons at few places, and been involved in MANY school plays, mainly on stage but behind stage too. I've always loved drama, but never done any plays out of school. I was wondering where i should start. I've seen some auditions at www.theatrepeople.com.au but i don't know if i'm quallified enough. I live in melbourne. Can someone help? Thanks

Go and audition at the any of the amateur theatre organisations here in melbourne. Some excellent ones and they are ALWAYS looking for new people.
Theatrepeople.com is a great way to start looking, also check the Herald Sun under auditions in the Entertainment section.
If you can't get in a show, work backstage or on a production team. Great fun and you will meet lots of people and get a feel for it.
I think if you have been involved in school productions you will be more than qualified to try out.
