Mon, 4 Sept 2000, 05:23 pmI am one of those experienced (not recent) middle-aged male actors lurking out here who would love to audition for some of the great shows being staged around town but for parenting obligations.
I am wondering if anyone has already set up a child minding co-operative of some sort whereby those no currently in shows could look after the kids of those who are, on some sort of roster/turn-about basis? If not, would anyone out there be interested in getting one going ?

I'd be interested in setting up some sort of deal where you come over to my house at 4 am and play with my child while I sleep in (sleep in...thats a laugh). Then, I might be able to summon up enough energy to actually become involved in a show, thereby becoming interested in your plan!

I whole heartedly agree with you there. My theatre experience can be severely limited due to lack of nighttime childcare. If you have any success, please let me know!

Night-time Childcare
I have been somewhat underwhelmed by the response to this idea thus far. Obviously we single parents aren't such a high percentage of the ITA demographic as the law of averages would suggest.
If we can't get some sort of a co-op going, are there any struggling students out there who might be interested in earning a few bucks doing some babysitting (to use an old-fashioned term)? If so, please respond to this.

Okay, if you are looking for a baby sitter, i am a freelance dancer and live on a day by day schedule, and willing to look after yours or friends kids if the location isnt too disagreeable, drop me a line... City or innerwest suits me

Hi. I'm a drama-minded Yr 12 student who'd love to look after your kids after school. I sing and play the piano, so if the kids want help with either of these or want to learn, there's something that could keep them entertained.
