Seeking British Bobby costumes
Sun, 24 Oct 2010, 09:56 pmI thought I'd let my fingers do the walking and post an ad on here for Police uniforms. We're searching for fancy dress shops that stock reasonably authentic London Bobby uniforms (circa 1980 and present day styles). If anyone can recommend a stockist, or if a theatre group has some, and they'd consider having them out on loan we'd love to hear from you.

the Bill summer uniform
Sun, 24 Oct 2010, 10:55 pmYou could go for their summer uniforms of a white epaulette shirt, black tie & trousers. Except you would need to make up a set of black epplaulette with siver plastic numbers & a couple of white cloth tabs to hold the radio transiever hand piece.
You can also tart up any suitable peak cap with a black 'n white checkered hat band & cap badge.
Rather than the 'Bluebottle' helmets of the beat 'Wooden tops' cops, which was a wooden dome base to the orginal military helmet design.
