For Cirque du Soleil to be able to amaze thousands of people around the world each evening, a tremendous amount of behind-the-scenes talent is required. Nearly 3,000 employees back up our artists, including energetic and passionate individuals who make up our rigging teams across the globe.

Join Cirque!

The Head Rigger we would like to hire will manage and supervise riggers as well as all rigging department operations. In addition, he will assist the Director with hiring new riggers, managing departmental budgets and producing capital expense projections. He will provide advice, recommendations and information on any safety issue related to working high above the ground and climbing equipment. Furthermore, he will manage use and maintenance of rigging equipment employed by artists during performances, rehearsals and training periods. Join our team and apply your College diploma (or equivalent) in live entertainment or theatre production, your six to eight years' relevant experience as a rigger, including experience with aerial or human rigging, your technical knowledge of rigging equipment, your personnel management experience as well as your availability to tour full time and to work in foreign countries.

If you are interested in this challenge, please consult our website under the “Working at Cirque” section and apply online.

An opportunity NOT to be missed!

The above advertisement by Cirque Du Soleil's agents is, in my book, a complete vindication of this websites right to be here.

For months now patrons of this site have been reading vitriolic and sometimes border-line slanderous comments being bandied back and forth, post's that have at times been obscene, and the usual gamut of back patting for work well done. During these times we have had people dismiss the site as cr*p, leave and vow never to return, people stating that the site should close and those who have stated that it probably will.

Now here we have an agency with an international outreach offering OUR people first bite of the cherry at a truly prestigous occupation.

Tell me again, all the nay-sayers that claimed "THEATRE AUSTRALIA" isn't helping to promote all forms of our beloved lilfestyle, that it has denigrated to nothing more than an on-line mud slinging contest.

MAybe on a "community theatre" level, things are not quite as "communal" as they could be, but in the bread and butter, paid work arena this site is certainly justifying it's existance.

THankyou Grant Malcolm and team for your efforts and thankyou to the "professional" companies that visit this website and find it worthy of your attentions.

Now then.... where did I leave my riggers ticket???

"Gone crazy, Back later."
