Looking For A Sound Tech
Tue, 22 May 2007, 02:07 pmHello,
if anyone is looking for a sound tech, follow spot operator or lighting engineer
i am happy to help, i am a student at a school that puts on a lot of major productions during the year and i have grown tired of just working in one venue
i will work for very little cost, i do it because i love it.
i am a very capable sound engineer and i am able to work on my own to get a job done if needed. i have also trained various students in certain aspects of technical theatre and if need be i am able to train fellow crew.
my resume can be found online here

Ooh, never advertise that
Tue, 22 May 2007, 02:15 pmOoh, never advertise that you will work for little cost. It's ok to say you will work for profit-share, a fee, or award rates, but don't say you'll work for 'very little cost'.
Alex, I would suggest contacting Robyn at Showtech (they are based in Melb.), who are always looking for keen techies. I would also suggest contacting La Mama, as they are currently updating their list of available techies.
Also, sign up for the free forums at www.alia.com.au (the Aus. Lighting Industry Assoc.), where you can contact other techies and post a 'want' ad. They also list jobs on their main website as they come available.
If you want, I can send you a list of production companies in Melbourne.
