I am looking at putting on an amateur performance of Les Miserables, in the not so distant future, and I wondered if there is anyone out there who has done so already, and knows who to contact, and approximately how much the royalties were.

From memory it was Royalty code A which is either 16% of gross box office takings, or a minimum of $250 a performance.
Script hire is about $500 for 1st three months and then about $125 a month after that, and the orchestral material a slight bit cheaper from recall. Scripts etc have to be returned by courier and that was a big expense.
Most rewarding thing I have EVER done in thirty years of theatre - good luck with it,
