Information Please...

Hi to everyone that reads this.

I am looking at putting on an amateur performance of Les Miserables, in the not so distant future, and I wondered if there is anyone out there who has done so already, and knows who to contact, and approximately how much the royalties were.

I put it on last May with Murray Music and Drama Club. Hal Leonard will have all the information you need.........they are really helpful.

From memory it was Royalty code A which is either 16% of gross box office takings, or a minimum of $250 a performance.

Script hire is about $500 for 1st three months and then about $125 a month after that, and the orchestral material a slight bit cheaper from recall. Scripts etc have to be returned by courier and that was a big expense.

Hello all!

i co-own a small drama company who until now has performed self-devised works. we would love to use some more well known plays as well as any fantastic undiscovered works out there!!

Problem is, where to start? im from a music theatre background so wouldnt know where to start searching for drama works if anyone knows a script leasing site please let me know or point me in the right direction. Any of course if any writers would like a company to put on their work, i'd love to take hear from you too!!

Go to www.australianplays.com.au, you will find local authors with many rights free works there.

WE are about to relaunch and now have the ability to supply full scripts not just extracts and synopses for directors to read.

We have another 11 plays backlogged but ready to go when we get the time to put them up...soon I hope! Feel free to email me for full scripts in secure format.

The Armpit plays site is about to be relaunched as Australian Plays in the next few weeks.
