Premier Citizenship Award
Wed, 26 Jan 2005, 01:02 pmThe winner of the Premiers Australia Day Active Citizenship Award in the category of community group or event was presented today to Harbour Theatre at the Australia Day ceremony at the Fremantle Arts Centre. This award was in recognition of all the volunteers that have been a part of Harbour Theatre over the last 40 odd years we've been in Fremantle. Our thanks to City of Fremantle, the hundreds of members that have been a part of Harbour Theatre, the other nominees and winners of the other categories and to the mystery person who nominated Harbour Theatre for this award. It's up to members of the community to nominate; nominations are usually called for around October. Both the Shire of Kalamunda and City of Nedlands take part in the citizenship awards - you can find more details at www.ausdaywa.com.au - perhaps you could put a nomination in yourself to highlight more theatre types?
