Dancing
Mon, 9 Aug 2004, 09:33 pmAlthough this website is most suited for acting and drama studies, i recently found this website while searching through yahoo. My name is Natalie and i'm 15 years old, currently studying yr 10. In the past 2 years, i've started to do dance classes, mostly choreo classes. Now that i've reached yr 10, i'm being pushed by my teachers at school to help me decide on what i would like to do in the future with my life. I love my dancing, and one of the passions i've considerd is to continue with dancing and start performing in productions. But since i have very little experience compared to other dancers who have danced since the age of 7, i feel that my chance in studying dance is little. To any proffesional dancer, i'm askign for help!!!!! Do you have any good advice i might be able to use to be able to pursue dance?

My daughter was what was considered a "late starter" to dancing when she was 13! She is now 17 and has been dancing for 4 years and most people think she has been dancing since she was little. With determination and hard work you can start at any age. Dont be discouraged, find a dance school that is friendly and about having fun and go for it!
I even went back to dancing at the age of 48 and performed in some dance concerts tap dancing - its never too late!
Good luck
