Need help for MONOLOGUE!
Wed, 31 Mar 2004, 10:01 amHello.
I'm Kay and a year 12 student doing Drama Studies (TEE Drama). At the end of this year I must present two solo performances - 1 is a own script and the other 1 is scripted piece from a play (not musical, not movie, not from a book of monolgues but a published and scripted play).
Because for my own script I am doing a piece as Jane Austen, my costume is that of formal attire of about 1800. (Basically like the costumes you will see in Pride and Prejudice, Emma or Sense and Senseability.)
What I need help with though is finding the scripted piece. What I ask is if anyone knows of a play that I could get a monolgue from to suit the costume. Perferably comical as my piece is serious.
I was thinking along the lines of a modern day bride or bridesmaid. But I have a very open mind.
Please help!

Thank you both...
Wed, 31 Mar 2004, 07:54 pmI thank you both so much for your replies. And Danny thank you so much! :) A good friend of mine also suggested for me to look at that play although she didn't tell me the very useful knowledge that most of the lines are in monolgue form :)
Kerri, thank you also for your words. I do appreciate them very much but I feel like I have been really building up to this point and a costume, personally for me, really helps me. I think just a prop could get in my way... that is just how I am. And my dear grannie is quite excited to start the costume *giggles*. But really, truthfully... I just feel like I need to be "in" the character's shoes and dress!
Thank you both again so much!
And just a little note I forgot to add to the header. If anyone knows where I could get a monologue from, like how to go about getting the actual thing and where from.
Thank you all so much!
