Representation
Fri, 11 July 2003, 01:46 pmHi peoples
Question in relation to getting representation (in Perth that is).
I have only been acting (in community theatre) for the last 2 years (and done 7 productions so far) and want to get representation. I have done before (but I would say this company focussed mainly on modelling rather than acting) and unfortunately missed out on being involved in a couple ads (due to receiving the message too late!!).
Do you think it's worth a shot my contacting say Frog or Actors Management even though my repertoire is limited? I have had no formal training (just a few workshops) so my experience is really just learning from each production I've done.
I suppose, most of the replies to this will be, "just do it, you haven't anything to lose". But then, maybe it's a fear of rejection that holds me back......
Cheers
Kat

Nuff said.
An agent won't reject you. Most will simply offer you suggestions and they can be very encouraging also. They have to, their business depends on people like us.
You will need photos and if you don't have them, they can recommend someone to take them.
You may be recommended to attend a course and these are always useful to help develop your skill and to demonstrate to them what you do have.
