MAJOR ALERT For anyone considering entering this year's ManPAC 1-Act Festival A reminder that entries close 19th March!!! This year's festival will be held 30/31 July 2010 If you are thinking of entering this year's festival and haven't quite got your act together Can I suggest you contact the Festival Organiser, Jackie Brett ASAP! Even if you haven't actually cast your play yet you can still enter! Jackie's contacts are 9582 8257 or jackiebrett@westnet.com.au This was a very fun weekend last year, and now that it is being held closer in time to the other festivals, really could be the start of a much larger and more exciting 1-Act circuit. Questions about Mandurah 1-Acts...

Mon, 15 Mar 2010, 08:16 am
In answer to a couple of questions: The organizers of the ManPAC 1-Act festival have been advised that they are the only festival to have a minimum of 30mins not 20mins. Unfortunately they were advised AFTER publicity had gone out. I do not know whether they are going to change the minimum time limit or not. If you have an entry that is between 20 and 30mins, then talk to Jackie and see what their decision was. As far as I am aware, the panel of adjudicators for this year has not been finalised. I do know that, as for last year, they are going with a panel of "respected peers" rather than one "expert". This does give the festival one major point of difference between the other festivals, and it also makes it a bit more interesting, as all decisions tend to be made on a consensus basis. Last year's panel was local journalist and reviewer Jill Burgess, local performer Colin Howe and myself. As the other two rarely if ever get on this site, I can only assume that Mosh the Coward was having a direct go at me. To which I can only say, at risk of feeding trolls: "Poor diddums... we didn't give you the award you wanted? Grow some balls and a real name!"
