Rechabites vs Subiaco

It has been suggested that Subiaco Arts Centre is the alternative venue now that the Rechabites Hall ahs been closed - is this the only alternative (in comparison with cost, fee's and location)???

Wed, 17 June 2009, 05:34 pmI have been in contact with hiring the Astor, and as far as I know it is available, but astronomically expensive in comparison to Subi, and deffinitely the rechabites. It is also very big and imposing, you would want something large cast, and not very intimate to pull of the right atmosphere.
A comedy show would work well because people are used to the whole comedy, gala, giant space feel, but the astor is less intimate than say his majesty's and almost as large.
