Absolutely, and the key

Absolutely, and the key thing is you have to have a story. Putting on a play isn't enough. Why this play? Why is it relevant? Is there a notable or interesting actor in the show? Is the director of significance?
If you can't find a marketing angle yourself to generate an interesting story, journalists generally aren't going to find it for you - they have too many choices of subject matter to cover already.
