Playwright Competition - New One Act Plays
One Act Play Submissions from Playwrights are sought for Garrick Theatre's (WA) inaugural Playwright Competition. Three winning plays will be performed at Garrick Theatre: August - September 2009, with the likelihood of performing at the One Act State Festivals.
One Act Plays will need to be new (never performed before) and have an approximate running time between 20-45 minutes.
Submissions are Open Now. Playwright submissions are accepted Australia wide. Entries Close Wed 3rd June 2009.
All interested Playwrights MUST Register their interest by contacting:

and will then receive a detailed Information Pack.
Please note: Playwrights will not be allowed to direct their own production - a director will be allocated to the successful submissions. Register your interest for full details.
Amazing Response
Tue, 13 Jan 2009, 08:33 amHaving a slight involvement (only slight) I would like to make comment on the incredible response we have already received for this Competition with submissions coming from all around Australia and even a couple of international submissions. Heck, the thing is barely off the ground and already it feels like we are at cruising altitude.
I would like to thank all those that have expressed their interest in this new initiative so far. Keep them coming guys.
