The much-loved star of Australian seasons of Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera, Rob Guest, passed away Wednesday night.

Guest, who had been appearing as the Wizard in the Melbourne production of Wicked, was in intensive care at St Vincent's hospital after suffering a massive stroke on Tuesday night.

Walter Plinge

Really really sad news. I too saw him on Saturday night (and four performances prior to that) and will find it hard to imagine anyone else in the role. He played the part brilliantly. I wish i was able to see him in Phantom way back when. Thoughts r going out to family, friends and the cast of Wicked.
