Hi Everyone Can someome help me I have to perform 3 monologues, one shakespeare (however I have chosen my shakespeare one), 1 from a modern author and a classical piece. only 1 has to be a direct address to the audience. Does anyone know a monologue from a modern author and a classical piece and where one is a direct address to the audience? For my shakespeare one I think I may do Romeo and Juliet. thanks Tas

Any of the Talking Heads pieces by Alan Bennett are direct addresses to the audience. The monologue entitled Her Big Break is probably the most appropriate for a younger woman. What is this for? I personally would avoid Romeo and Juliet and pick something a bit different from the canon. Lady M from the Scottish Tragedy for example. Or Portia's big speech from The Merchant of Venice. For the classical try Moliere Is that all there is? Well if that's all there is my friend, then let's keep dancing. www.tonymoore.id.au
