Sydney Orchestra mimed in 2000 Olympics

I just discovered this on CNN: http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/asiapcf/08/29/australia.olympics.ap/index.html Apparently the Sydney Orchestra 'mimed' to a pre-recording ... by the Melbourne Orchestra!!! I can't believe any of our big music groups would be both so stupid, and so without pride as to do something like this. What are we coming to?
