I'm really sorry if something like this has already been posted (and i'm sure it has) but i am looking for an improv/acting class that i can drop in on to help me prepare for my upcoming slew of auditions. i used to take the VCA classes but i am in sydney now, so does anyone have any class/teacher that they can recommend to me? I'm a little rusty, and also a bit put off acting by recent events (see other thread if you want to hear my rant...) thanks in advance, Alison

Impro Classes

Hi There, I agree with RH. Impro classes and work does have a great deal to offer a performer. However, unless you have done it before and are just looking for a few classes to 'get back in the zone' then I suspect that you will find that a couple of 'crammed' classes prior to an audition may not offer you anything positive. In fact, when you first begin learning impro after years of script based performing it is not unusual for your confidence and skills to take a temporary backwards step. This is probably not what most people would choose to risk prior to an important audition. Impro Melbourne and Impro Sydney offer entry level improvisation classes in the evenings during school terms. In most capital cities there are also various other impro companies/troupes who conduct their own workshops or classes. It's just a matter or scouting around and finding a company that offers clsses appropriate to your age and experience level. I hope this helps. Good luck with the audition. Tulipa.
