Dracula..please help
Sun, 26 June 2005, 09:18 pmHey everybody, I am doing a theatrical production of "Dracula" which will involve a cast of around 150 school students and I have two main things that I need help with at the moment. The first is mirrors.... basically i need eight 4.5m x 1.2m mirrors that cannot be made from glass, so I think either acrylic mirror or highly polished stainless steel mirror would work I was leaning more towards the stainless steel type as I know the acrylic type can warp, so my question is does anyone know of a place that is reasonably priced which sells them I am located in NSW reasonably close to the Sydney area. Also I am looking to build 6 statues of women that will be around the same dimensions as the mirrors, I am thinking the easiest way to construct these is from carving them out of large blocks of polystyrene foam so if anyone knows of anywhere you can get that from or any other ideas of how to contruct these it would be of the greastest help to us. If anyone can help in any way it would be most greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone for your time!!!

Casting the figures as suggested, is possibly your best bet. You can use Medical plaster bandages or a Jesso method using calico & plaster of Paris as a cheaper method!
You will have to reinforce them structurally & only the fronts may be all that are required!
Try Rosco Shrink Mirror laminate.
You can get this from Pro design in Perth & IÂ’m sure from any Rosco agent over there.

It is only available on indent ordering here, so you might need to give plenty of lead time!
This site also explains how to use the mirror film to get the best effect.
