Try Julius Media, ALIA (Lighting Association)...but there's no real tech page out there... go to the Gorilla (www.thegorilla.com.au). They have multi-arts, and a place to post your details for free.

Re: design/backstage
Maybe there should be.
I've been thinking of making a network of websites for the industry in australia, where it has its different sections for techs, performers and company's.
Wouldn't be too hard to get started either. It would be just a matter of deciding what features you want on it. Any suggestions?
Also, when I thought about it I was trying to think of what the name and domain name could be. Something like:
Domain:
www.stage.com.au
Sub-Domain:
performers.stage.com.au
techs.stage.com.au
company.stage.com.au
forum.stage.com.au
Any suggestions for a domain name?

Re: design/backstage
Thanks.
Got a busy couple of days and weekend, but monday I'll start to think about it all.
I will really need some help to get it all done. Web Developers, News Authors, Forum Moderators etc. Anyone willing, please let me know via these forums.
would stage.com.au be suitable? or are there any other suggestions?
Will keep you updated, and let you know more soon.

Re: design/backstage
While Im not a web developer or author I do however know a bit about design so I could offer to make it look nice or even come up with a logo of sorts?
I wouldn't mind being a moderator. I think stage.com.au is pretty much straight forward and speaks for itself.
Now this is looking interesting

I would enjoy helping out - I just starting working at Arts Hub doing their UK jobs bulletin, so I'm quite happy to do something similar.

website under construction
Hi folks,
Just checking in, as i said i would (nearly a week late mind you).
I've been thinking about how to do this new website and I have a few idea's. The way I want the finished product to be, could take a while. I should have taken on this project earlier in the year when it was quiet, getting rather busy now.
However, I'm keen to see the website exist and happy to give it a go. The main site (core) may be a few of weeks away with weekly updates of new features and a consistant build until i'm happy with it.
I will have forums available first, for help with the construction and feedback about the website. They will be up in the next week.
Just so everyone is aware, it will be a free service, all you will need to do is sign up and agree to terms of use to access member only area's.
As said earlier, I'm happy for absolutely anybody to help out. I'll need people to test the website, construct the website, author and edit news, moderate forums etc. Thank you for those who have already put your hands up. I'll be glad to have your help and will be in contact soon.
If you have suggestions for the new website or want to help out, leave a message here or email me at: mattc@optushome.com.au
More updates soon.

Re: website under construction
Arts Hub is excellent for jobs. They have a large list of websites, magazines, newspapers, etc. where they take jobs from, as well as subscribers placing their own job ads on.
They also have jobs from all areas of the arts world, not just theatre.

Re: website under construction
Hi Matt. I just thought I'd put my hand up to volunteer as well. I'm quite familiar with HTML, PHP and SQL and I can also help out with graphic design work or forum moderation if required.
I've recently started a similar web site of my own called FilmStage. It mostly focuses on employment and technology for the Australian film and theatre industries. If you're interested, the site can be found at http://www.filmstage.net Admitedly, there isn't a great deal there at the moment since the site has only been live for a couple of weeks; but, hopefully, as people start to drop by, that will change. I do have plans to expand on it.
I also help out with the Hunter Volunteer Centre's web site, which can be found at http://www.hvc.org.au if you'd like to get an idea of my experience.
Anyway, let me know if there's anything I can do to help out.
Regards.

Slowly.
Amongst my usual commitments and a few extra commitements i have at the moment the website is certainly taking its time. However, I like to think the progress i have made is pretty good.
I'll have the forums available for use shortly. I'll post a message when they are ready.
As for lending a hand, I'd love the help. We have already formed a small group of helpers for the site, but always happy for more. What can you help us with?
