I have applied for the SM course at WAAPA but im pretty sure applications closed at the end of last month. You could get in contact with them and see if u can hand in a late application?

Re: stage management courses
there are many courses out there...you just have to know where to look. there is of course, the obvious three - NIDA, WAPPA and VCA, but there is a course provided in many universities across australia called 'small companies and community theatre' - this is both tech and acting based, but provides a good start to the industry and into other courses. there is a course at box hill tafe i think, if you are in melb... don't forget you can take short courses with various theatre companies, such as showtech, and sometimes lighting/sound companies offer certificate courses through a local uni, with lots of practical work. and lastly, you could always try amateur or fringe companies that always need hands on people for that all important experience...

Re: stage management courses
I don't think that any of the places that have courses in stage management, offer scholarship places in these courses. Alot of them are associate diploma or diploma award courses and therefore do not attract hecs fees or have high cost fee structures. So it is isn't worth offering scholarship places. Some private training organisations may though.
