Re: help about an acting career
Jasna,
Let's be serious here. I can't imagine anyone would want to reply to your email, simply because it lacks any real inspiration. You decided you wanted to be an actress a couple of days ago? I mean, really...
It's all good that you have actually thought about what you want to do, but to choose a profession that almost every teenage girl wishes to pursue...? I don't mean to discourage you at all. If you really are serious about acting, though, this website should be the last place to paste a message. I get infuriated by perpetually reading the vast flood of emails that come in concerning young people and their 'acting careers'. For starters, use the period and comma buttons (it's just simple grammar) and also for readibilty sake- Learn how to spell!!!
If you really do want to become an actress, you have to be passionate about it. Passion is a fusion of love and hate- so find out what you love and find out what you hate- and in their somewhere will reside your passion (I'm hoping this is making sense). You should also never want to become an actress just for the sake of being like 'Hillary Duff'. Fame is never a good reason to pursue something.
You have to know what you really want- and if you want to entertain people, then so be it.
Vision is also important, as is tenacity (that is, knowing what you want and sticking to it).
Acting is not glamorous and it is not easy. It is damn hard work, but with anything that is hard work, the results are worth it.
That is why you have to love it and be prepared to entirly commit yourself to the craft and art. Remember, acting is like a duck paddling across the water. Up above, from where we see it, everything is completely smooth and well presented. Yet underneath, the duck is paddling like anything to keep its outward appearance.
If you are still serious, join a youth theatre/drama group. Learn how to act. Get involved in plays outside of school. Commit yourself to it. If you are interested in television and/or film acting, enrol in one of those groups.
Remember that experience and education are extremely valuable.
I hope that this message has somehow inspired you and given you a new insight into what acting is really like. And remember that acting is not really acting, it is being and becoming the character and entertaing an audience. Which ultimately is what it is all about..

Re: help about an acting career
Dear Katie and Jasna
one thing an actor need is the ability to understand and comprehend. Something you obvioulsy failed to do when posting a plea help about an acting career in a section labeled TECHNICAL TALK. A plea that as everyone has pointed out,too others that have made such vain attempts, that those you are trying to attract the attention of, will ignore you!
Thou mangled hedge-born haggard!

Re: help about an acting career
Bysrocc,
Lets be serios here, now what kind of up lifting comment is that? So what,Jasna wanted to become and actress, but she only found that out a day ago. It doesn't matter, she obviosly is commited, so don't say she's not, cos shes getting right in and asking for work. And dont tell her to learn how to spell, no offence but yours was horrific. And your grammer. You need to stopped dampening others dreams, because of what ever reason, whether yours can't be persued. So please, don't write discouraging comments to passionate future actors/ress. Oh yeah and one more thing, so what if she has role model in life (Hillary Duff).
A very annoyed

Re: help about an acting career
Crgwllms and Abzy- You are both entirely right. I apologise for my unnecessary outburst. It was uncalled for. I merely wanted to encourage her, but obviously I portrayed my message the wrong way (and I WAS NOT trying to dampen her dreams!). I just wanted to state that acting takes passion (I now realise that I was writing to someone who had decided to pursue a career in acting just days ago).
Conclusively, my grammar was atrocious and I am a hypocrite due to my spelling mistakes. Truly I am a saucy boil-brained boar-pig. I have so much to learn...
Bsrocc
Yea, but still...
Thou art both contumelious defamatory monomaniacal pernicious vipers!
(Please ignore my sentence structure)
(I'm smiling while writing this.. You have to admit it has humorous connotations...)

Re: help about an acting career
Hi, I'm also a young aspiring actor.
I've had very minor large success, but at least I'm stopped every now and then, because someone noticed me.
Any way, back onto point, I'd try sending your screen plays to the Art director of a Company theatre, or some Actors.
I know giving it to an actor doesn't sound great, but if they like it, they may well propose the idea to a director looking for a project.
Hope I've been of help.

Hello,
I'm sorry if I sounded a little harsh and hasty, I just thought it was mean comment, I now realise it was your way of encouraging her! And your spelling wasn't that bad really!
Sorry about our differences, I'm glad we are civil enough to apologise to each other.

Are you pursuing an acting carrer?

Thank You for the.........comments sha'll i say
Well first of all i said i wondered how Hillary Duff got so famouse not i Want to be like her or anything.
Now second of all i would get into the plays for anything but see in my community well there is not any becouse its very un organised.
Thirdly i would like to say i always wanted to be an actress it's just now that i realised it was my true passion. Acting i now is hard work but i'm willing to work as hard as i need to, to entertain people and to make myself feel good about what i am doing.
I am also willing to give up as much time as i need to, to become an actress example to be as good as Nicole Kidman.
Thank You

Re: help about an acting career
Hi-
I am wondering what exactly i should do after high school to become an actor. I'm in year 10, and i would love to get into an acting career. I know i have talent, i am the best actor in the whole school, my teachers have told me that. I have been to many drama worshops, worked under many talented actors/actresses, and they say i am very good. I would like to know what steps i should take towards a career in acting.
Thanks
