Hey -

Does anyone have any idea where I can get "Smoke in a Can" (an aerosol can full of, well, smoke), preferably in Adelaide? There are a million places in the US and UK that sell it, but I'm not having much luck here. Failing that, anyone got any ideas for improvising it?

Thanks,

Gwyn.

Re: Smoke spray?

Hello Gwyn
Smoke in a can is used for testing smoke detectors in fire alarm systems. Look up the firms in the phone book to see if they sell it or can give you a supplier.
It comes in a small aerosol can and from memory has a vertical nozzle so it can be directed up a tube to be sprayed near the smoke detectors.

Re: Smoke spray?

Lightsounds in Sydney (Parramatta Rd, Leichardht) used to sell smoke in a can. You might want to give them a call or another disco lighting place.

For memory the effect is about $20 / can.

Re: Smoke spray?

Hi Gwyn, dunno whether i'm doing this right... haven't done one of these forum type things before. anyway your Q was 2 years ago as it's now June 2005

Your Q is EXACTLY where i am now. postage etc US is a pain for these cans... having no luck in Aussie so far... Did you ever resolve this?

Thanks Martin

Re: Smoke spray?

Hi again gwyn. What a knob I am. Just read the two replies you got back in 2003 after I sent the question to you. Those two leads are plenty. Thanks martin
