Whitehorse Musical Theatre Inc. is a leading amateur musical theatre group located in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

The company performs at the Besen Centre, 87-89 Station Street, Burwood.

We welcome new members at all times, whether they are on stage or looking for experience in any other aspect of theatre - backstage, props, lighting, sound, scenery construction and painting, costumes, make-up, hairstyles/wigs, publicity, front of house etc.

We are looking for back stage crew for our current production. If you like working with amateur theatre and enjoy all the frills and benefits of working for nothing (lollies, tim-tams and all the coffee you can drink), then drop me an email.

42nd Street, is based on the classic 1933 movie musical of the same name, 42nd Street tells the story of a starry-eyed young actress named Peggy Sawyer who has come to audition for the new Julian Marsh musical that is about to open on Broadway. Unfortunately, Peggy can't seem to work up the nerve to walk through the stage door until it's too late--the audition is over. But not to worry! Peggy soon catches the eye of the famous director, and when the chorus turns up one girl short, Peggy gets her big break. But Peggy can't seem to stay in the good graces of the show's aging leading lady, Dorothy Brock, and on opening night, another Dancer accidentally pushes Peggy into Ms. Brock who falls and breaks her ankle. The furious director fires Peggy on the spot. Discouraged and ready to give up all her dreams of becoming a star, Peggy packs her bags and heads for the train station, but fate has other plans and Peggy may turn out to be a star yet!
42ND STREET is a great big smiling, sparkling, tapping, back-flipping production. And those songs! "Lullaby of Broadway," "We're in the Money," "You're Getting to Be a Habit With Me, " "Dames," "I Only Have Eyes for You," and the spectacular title number. This stunning production will transport you to the Golden Age of Broadway.

So, Come and Meet those DancinÂ’ Feet on 42ND STREET

There will be 12 performances from the 3rd to 18th October, 2003, including Sunday matinee performances on the 5th and 12th October.

Bump-in and production week commences 28th September. Set Construction already underway.

Set Construction is at the Factory in Bayswater, performances in Burwood.
