hog500
Mon, 9 June 2003, 09:43 amI have never actually programmed a Hog Desk, but will have to in under a weeks time for a show. We will be operating two Mac 500's on a Hog500.
The instruction manual doesn't really explain how to program a chase to make the movers actually move.
Could someone please explain how to do this..... it would be most appreciated...
Thanks!

Hi
Programming a Hog 500 is fairly simple in its operation methods once you construct the basic defaults on the desk.
Ie. after your Mac 500's are patched in the fixture pallette, simply select it and set up your colour pallette and your positions pallette as well as a beam pallatte. (Pallette meaning short cut keys so when you hit that key it goes downstage centre in red).
If you're setting up static cues, simply hit record when its in position and press the "choose" key on your submaster.
Alternatively, when you're setting up movement cues, you can either use the FX generator and do the same (choose) to the submaster or to program your own movement sequences:
1) record each position in your chase (movement pattern) by pressing RECORD then ENTER and continue doing this for every change. This adds each cue in the stack so when you bring up that master it will play it all in your order.
THIS SETS DEFAULT TIMING! YOU WILL WANT TO CHANGE THIS!
Hope this is useful!
drop us a line if you need anymore info but the manual should be able to help you from herein.
goodluck on the show!
