Work
Wed, 6 Nov 2002, 01:57 amHi
I was wandering if anyone could help me, i am hoping to come to Australia on a working permit visa in March, I am a Theatre Technician in the UK and would like to continue my work in the field while out in Australia. If anyone can give me advice on how to go about finding work in the field i would really appreciate it.
Cheers Emma

Re: Work
'Connections Magazine' is Australia's enterainment industry standard. It has an employment section. It's not very big from what i've seen over the years but it's a start.
What city are u headed 4? And do u plan to move around?
Oz, like the rest of the world in this industry, is a 'who u know' kind've place re gettin jobs.
I live in Perth & theatre jobs over hear are few & fair between. It's definitely casual work to start off, as full-time positions are very hard to score.
i do know people over in the eastern states who know people, etc, etc. So let me know where ur headed.
Good luck!
