Come on, there must be work in Sydney
Tue, 29 Jan 2002, 07:16 amCome on everybody, there must be work in Sydney as opposed to work in WA. I'm looking for some work or work experience either in theatre, film, tv, or anything to do with production and post production. I have very little experience but am keen and eager to learn and are dying to get into the industry. My name is Lori and I would greatly appreciate any help you could give me. Sorry this is posted in two areas, but i want to better my chances. Ta

RE: Come on, there must be work in Sydney
Lori, there is work in Sydney. But if you want to "better your chances" of getting it, you are doing it wrong. These posts will not get you work. We do not have producers eagerly scanning these boards looking for the next big thing simply on the strength of a few written words. You want work? You have to go out physically and get it. Ring the theatre companies and ask when their auditions are, ring the agents and find out when they are doing their next intake, look up the "Audition" sections of the Sydney street press, look up the NSW section in the Auditions section on this page and make some damn phone calls. Pound the pavement, do the hard yards, get yourself seen.
No actor ever got work by sitting on their arse typing on a net notice board. The sooner you young actors types realise that the better.
Good luck.

RE: Come on, there must be work in Sydney
hi.
:o)
I dont know where you are but i am writting to you from the Penrith area.
If u are interested, we have a new-ish theatre group that needs new members in order to get new blood in!!
Most of our members are not young,(hint hint ) and so we are attempting to recruit some fresh talent.
At present we are working on a play that we plan to show off in mid may.
There are no openings in this play although having extra people to work on costumes, make up and stage design would be great.
For more info just reply to my email address or simply ignore the note.
NOTE: all work done by us is charity and we dont get payed (yet).
Good luck.
Regards,
Mariela.
C.H.A.T Group.

That is true. That is what I am trying to do.
I am trying to get a name of a reputable agent in Sydney NSW for a 14 year old.
Agent or agency?

Re: british musician
Hi,
this won't help you, but I was wondering if you are the composer of the piece "Roadworks" that was performed on the young musician of the year 2004. If not, ignore this.
I liked the piece and have been trying to find it or find out more about it, but have had no luck. Is there anyway I could get a copy?
