RE: Show Safe

Hi Jai,
What sort of information are you looking for? Can we be of any help? You should probably ask Julius Grafton from Connections magazine, as he would know how to contact the principals of what was Show Safe.
We have a small amount of litterature in our office, but if there were specific questions you have Im sure we can help

RE: Show Safe

Does anyone know the reason for it being 'Glad' bagged?
Or is to be resurrected in some other form? - I thought it was almost useful, although their site tried hard to become a forum for us black ducks, even from other states. It fell short of being a top banana and always seem to get bogged down in Excutive Board Policies on most questions asked. So much so it became, for me, hard to access and/or glean anything. But I think it missed the target, especially in this industry, as there seemed to be always an underlining membership factor, with a fee for entrance to the confidential inner circus in order to gain that little bit extra information. Sure they had to get resources from somewhere to exist, but it would costly to attend their meetings from WA. Maybe it would have worked if they had spread their base and considered the existance of this state, even if we are just a very small pimple.

Maybe one day????

RE: Show Safe

Show safe died because everyone wanted it to work, but no-one wanted to do the work.

It was a classic example of Austraians not wanting to associate - have you ever noticed how few successful associations there are in Australia? Compared to the Americans who will form an association if two or more people like bananas, it would seem that Aussies (in general) are not interested in giving up their time.

There was a massive ground-swell of support to start the association after it was suggested during an ENTECH Trade Show, but when it came time to actually spend time preparing submissions, running the association, etc, the whole job fell to a handful of time-poor people.

These people could not keep up the time commitment and keep their jobs.

Show safe was shelved (it has not yet been killed). It may get revisited if the pieces fall into place.

Show Fail

Thanks John.

IÂ’m sorry to hear it committed suicide. I realise Julian and others put a lot of time in to it - but sadly you are right about us, and it is our down fall, we bang the drum - but leave it to the few, when it comes to work. Unless there is a party and 99.9% will be there drumming.

Possibly if chapters were formed in each state and the Associations offices moved each term - it might be more widely accepted??????

Maybe the guruÂ’s should have turned it over to us, in the West, we could have got it up and running - then the east could have taken over, when it was organised. ItÂ’s a pity it has crashed - it was worthwhile and badly needed. Maybe it could be resurrected here on this site, which would reduce the commercial interests?.

RE: Show Shelved

Show safe has been shelved deliberately until we can work out how best to structure such an entity, rather than wind it up.

I would encourage anyone to make suggestions - remembering that the path of least resistance is likely to be the most sucessful. Connections Magazine is happy to continue its support of the entity, so at least one industry company is on board.

It does not matter what state supporters come from (in fact, the more the merrier) and most business could be conducted electronically anyway.

If there is more interest, I can look into it further.
