VET Accredited Courses in Entertainment
Tue, 6 Nov 2001, 10:58 amVET TRAINING: CERTIFICATE III IN ENTERTAINMENT SKILLS
NIDA will offer a new, VET accredited training program in 2002.
NIDA has developed a Certificate III Course in Entertainment with a focus on Production Skills. This course ensures the development of solid skills in staging, “bumping in” and “bumping out” a show, and a specialisation in the technical areas of lighting, sound and audiovisual techniques, as well as a broad understanding of the entertainment industry, its procedures and health and safety issues.
The course will be delivered as flexibly as possible, allowing students the opportunity to work on a casual basis during the course. Course modules will be offered on weekends and evenings over a four-month period with some short periods of full-time study and on-the-job experience.
The duration of the course is four months part-time, commencing in March 2002. The course will also be offered in July.
