Why are no messages being e-mailed?
Wed, 5 Sept 2001, 10:31 pmHey Grant,
There have been a bunch of postings on this site over the past few days, but only a handful of them have been e-mailed to subscribers.
Tonight in particular is very weird. No new postings at all being sent.
Wassup?

RE: Why are no messages being e-mailed?
Hi Dave
There was some routing broken somewhere that was stopping mail from reaching the mailing list server. I did receive a mail from IT saying it was fixed and a rush of 30 odd mails arrived at the same time as dramatic proof. But since then it would appear things have jammed again.
Cross your fingers we'll have it finally sorted again today.
Cheers
Grant

Hmmm... today has a way of stretching into a week.
:-)
The problem was not with the routing but rather with yahoo. They started bouncing all messages from the site and sent polite messages saying "we'll reconnect you if you email us" but then for a week failed to respond to any emails at all!
By contrast, our hosts at Informed Technology have us setup with a spiffy new mailing list within hours of my request.
