Stage flying
Tue, 21 Aug 2001, 10:28 amI'm currently a Theatre student at the Uni of Southern QLD, and was interested in finding out more about the craft of stage flying.
Does anyone have any ideas about what research one might undertake into the problems of flying the four characters in Peter Pan? Assuming money is no obstacle, what sort of people and/or organizations could I contact to assist in rigging a flying apparatus for this particular show??

We have flown people for the ballet, Melbourne Theatre company, and many amaeture productions.
As you are in QLD I also suggest you call Rock n Roll Circus as the riggers there would be able to help.
We have had over 15 years expreience in flying people for all sorts of productions and events.
Hope we can help
The main thing is to mke sure whoever you speak to is a licenced Rigger, and can show you their tickets, that they have the right equipment, and of course that they have public liability Insurance.
There are many freelance riggers out there who would be happy for the work but dont have the experience or the knowledge in flying people.
Remember you LIFE is in their hands.
Hope we can help
Regards
Robyn
