We need a double barrel shotgun for our production at the Old Mill (now!) and due to the new licensing laws we are having one hell of a lot of trouble getting our hands on one. has anyone got one we can use - we open real soon and I want to shoot something that isn't made of plastic and pops a cork out the end.

RE: guns - help

The WA Academy of Performing Arts has one, a nice one.
We had a stage manager from WAAPA in our show and she got it for us, but you'll have to do your own dirty work to get hold of it. Doesnt help much I know but its a lead.

Sharon

I directed a show last year that required some guns that fired (Blanks obviously - made a loud bang!!) and one that simply looked the part. It obviously depends on what you are after. If it is guns that fire blanks for the sound effect then you could try the WA Athletics Association, as their starting pistols definitely look and sound the part. But if it's a replica you're after then try Western Gunsmiths in Beckenham. The gentleman you need to speak to is Doug Barnes and their number is 9358 4525. Their address is 8 Clapton St, Beckenham.

I hope that this may help you. Best wishes.
