Early next year I will be required to direct my own play and I was wondering if anyone has information where I could obtain any one act play scripts in Perth. Thanks! (Feel free to e-mail at the above address)

RE: One Act Scripts in Perth

Hi Nicole,
If you are a member of the ITA you can come and browse our collection at ITA Office, City West Lotteries House, 2 Delhi Street, W. Perth.
If you are not a member then it might well be an idea to join!
As the office has temporarily lost one of its most active staff & the other is suffering from "end of year syndrome" it will be very advisable to phone first to see when office is likely to be open!
Sec can be contacted at 9457-2471 (h) 0402-249-249 (m) or office is 9420-7242 e-mail davisrn@cygnus.uwa.edu.au

That sounds really useful - can you please tell me whether you are only open during business hours (especially given the mammoth workload...)

Thanx - Lisa

RE: One Act Scripts in Perth

I found this bookshop in northbridge - arcane bookshop, which you've probably heard of anyway - but they've got all kinds of theatrical books there on monologues - classical and contemporary, voice, movement, plays - if you look hard maybe even one-act plays, and some stanislavky's methods. So I would recommend checking it out.

good luck

RE: One Act Scripts in Perth

have you considered asking a local writer to write one for you
there are a lot of writers groups around perth as well as many writing students
who would probably love to have the opportunity to see their work performed
on a stage, myself included
and this goes for any other companies prepared to take the risk
